BIO
“The sensuality and elegance of the drawing of these female figures takes us back to American photographic hyper realism. In these drawings there is passion and energy elements that characterise all the work of this young artist.”
(CARMELITA BRUNETTI - Chief Editor, Art On World)
Siddhant Khattri, (born 1991), India, is a contemporary artist residing and working in Mumbai, India. His works are outspoken, dense, realistic and representational. Siddhant’s research is contextualised within the continuities of evolutionary language of a composed female body against the current tide of toxic femininity, strong polarity between a man & woman in the times when the spectrum is shrinking and the ever-existing asymmetric equality between the two. Khattri’s works highlight body movements that are uniquely feminine embodied in all the woman. By making charcoal black and white drawings, he takes away the tonality of skin, thereby stating the non-existence of racial impact on femininity. He has been admired by his muse mentioning - ‘Every time I’m surprised by the skill of your work, I see myself in a new way with your paintings. You are a real master’. His works evidently show the kinetic relationship between the creator and his creations, deeply enchanted with his inferences of the link between Lord Brahma, the creator, and the entire universe, his creation.
Khattri has conducted numerous solo exhibitions in various cities throughout India, including Delhi, Bangalore, Hyderabad, and Mumbai. His works have been collected by private collectors from Italy, Germany, the Netherlands, India, and the USA. Since 2023, his works have been featured in various international art magazines. In 2021, his book titled "Siddhant, Art is Eternal and Artist Immortal," authored by Karuna Kochar, became a bestseller on Amazon. He was awarded the second rank among 1800 artists in a photo-realistic contest in 2020 for his work "Antha,". In 2019, his works were featured by 16 online art galleries. Siddhant has been highly praised by renowned photographer Laurent Elie Badessie and fashion models Svitlana Grabenko and Madame Debra Shaw.
Khattri is best known for his charcoal hyper-realistic drawings, majorly portraits of women of different origins and culture. He has explored inclusiveness in The Beauty of Humanity Series. Projects such as Valerie (2020-2023) and Antha (2019-2020) highlight his strong belief in the concept of ‘unity in beauty’, inspired by subjects from Ukraine and Russia respectively. Investing 12,000 working hours on this series since 2017, Siddhant connects the portraits in this series with their expressions by using the style of pointillism. He has recently started exploring his perception of love for a woman in the series Oh… And There’s a Woman… A Woman… Who I Love.
Siddhant endeavors to cultivate a relationship between art collectors and society through his artistic creations. He commences his work on a collection, which involves extensive research and his inherent interest in contemporary cultural agendas. Siddhant visualizes progressive ways to showcase his subject matter through his unique artworks. He meticulously narrows down 40-50 potential candidates before making a final selection. After devising a strategic plan for the collection, he shifts his focus towards producing the physical artwork.
In addition to his artistic pursuits, Siddhant Khattri is also the founder and creative head of SK Art Studios, an organization established with a vision to produce creative works, collect sustainable art, promote emerging artists, and hold art events. Through SK Art Studios, he provides a platform for emerging artists to showcase their work and connect with like-minded individuals. Khattri believes that art has the power to bring people together and inspire change, and he is committed to using his platform to promote sustainable practices and encourage artists to create works that reflect their values and beliefs. SK Art Studios is currently been followed by high ranking personalities at Sotheby’s, Christie’s, Gagosian, Tate, Hauser & Wirth, and the likes.
